My clients both love to cook, and regularly host Soirees with up to 40 guests. It was crucial that the kitchen layout and the materials we used worked together to create not only a practical living space for their everyday family life, but a space that was also spacious and glamorous enough to accommodate and inspire their many guests.
The room allocated for the kitchen and social dining was a long narrow space with an adjoining Alfresco style patio at one end and a family zone with a desk and relaxed seating area at the other.
The clients were keen on a stylish, modern look and were instantly drawn to the black cabinets samples. Careful consideration was given to the accent colour palette, tile choice, height of the tall cabinets and the overall benchtop dimensions to ensure the large room maintained its sense of spaciousness and was not overpowered by the dark cabinets.
The cooking zone has a 750mm deep benchtop with ample space for prep and two large under-mounted sinks. The 5.4m island can comfortably seat up to 12 guests with the ability to push the stools right in underneath for bigger crowds to gather around.
A separate breakfast area with a forth sink, second dishwasher and integrated fridge was also included along with a floor-to-ceiling open shelving unit to display some of their wine collection and other decorative items.
